UPPMAX Next Generation Sequencing Cluster & Storage (UPPNEX)
UPPNEX stands for "UPPmax NExt generation sequencing Cluster & Storage" and is a prominent project at UPPMAX, providing a providing computing and storage resources as a national resource for the vibrant Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) community in Sweden, such as Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab).
If you are a user of one of the regional or national platforms for NGS (such as SciLifeLab), you can apply for an UPPNEX project. This gives you access to storage computing hours for your project. The standard account is 0.5 TB of storage and 2000 computing hours per month. If you need more, please contact UPPNEX.
On this site you can find information about how to access the UPPNEX system or browse the installed software applications and databases. UPPNEX has several associated Application Experts, which you can contact if you need assistance with NGS analyses using UPPNEX systems.
UPPNEX was originally funded by the Knut och Alice Wallenberg foundation and the Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing (SNIC) and is formally part of Uppsala Multidisciplinary Center for Advanced Computational Science (SNIC-UPPMAX), which is Uppsala University's resource for high-performance computing and related know-how. For more information, see About UPPNEX. There is also a popular article in Swedish: Varför UPPNEX? and a press release from Uppsala University (also in Swedish).
